Founded in 1997 by the Kumamoto Prefectural Government, KPCT( Kumamoto Prefectural College of Technology) is the fourth oldest public polytechnic college in Japan. KPCT pursues excellence in Practical Engineering Education for the prosperity of regional economy and society. Four departments provide two-year engineering courses in Mechanics, Robotics, Electronics, Computer Networking, Information Technology and Image technology. KPCT produces Practical Engineers for the future with advanced skill and knowledge of technologies in related fields. Our graduates contribute to the promotion of advanced technologies and high-value added production in regional industries, especially for manufacturers.
- Maintain a close relationship with regional industries as an educational institution.
- Open the door of this institution to regional industries.
- Collaborate with regional industrial companies, educational and govermental institutions through exchange of information and technology.
(1)Small Class Sizes
Our lecture and training sessions are carried out while keeping the number of students as small as 22 per class. We assign a computer to each student and provide state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. By taking advantage of these resources, all students can hone their engineering skills.
(2) Intensive Education Curriculum
Students are required to spend 2800 hours over two years to practice engineering skills and to acquire basic and advanced knowledge of technology and liberal arts.
(3) Practical Engineering Program
Our program is designed to give students supervised practical application of previously studied theory. Through this, they can gain knowledge of current technologies along with technical skills. In this way, lecture and practical training/experiments are inseparable.
(4) Student Research Program
Students work on research projects with faculty mentors, aiming at developing their problem-solving skills and creative mind.
The Internship allows students to acquire valueable experiences by being trained in the local companies.
